Touted as the inventor of the decade, born 27 February 1967 in Chingford, north-east London. He is the brain behind the revolutionary design of the iPhone, iPod, iMac and iPad.
Joined Apple in 1992 - 15 years before the arrival of the first iPhone, but it wasn't until 1997, when Steve Jobs returned to the company he had founded, that Ive and his team were allowed to really show what they could do. It would be an understatement to say he has played a major role in the phenomenal success of Apple and it's gadgets.
Asked about the impact of his products on the modern world, Ive said: "We don't really spend much time thinking about our impact. We are fully consumed with trying to make the very best products that we can." That's humility speaking.
Ive was knighted on 22 May, 2012 by Princess Anne at Buckingham Palace for services to design and enterprise.
He studied Industrial Design at Newcastle Polytechnic. He's happily married, and has 2 twin sons.
